Location: “Padurea de smarald” (The Emerald Forest) is part of the Vanatori Natural Park and is located on the valley of the creek Neamt.
Short description
The Emerald Forest, also known as The Oak Reservation Dumbrava, covers 56,5 ha and it’s formed of old oaks with an age between 150 and 200 years.
This natural reservation is impressive because of the look of the old oaks. The flora is quite rich and consists in 209 species of plant that belong to 50 plant families.

“Dragos Voda” Bisons and Carpathian Fauna Reserve is one of the 4 such nature reserves from Romania and it’s also one of the biggest from Europe dedicated specially to the conservation of bisons. Located in the north of the Neamt County, in Vanatori-Neamt Commune, it represents one of the most visited places in the county.
The reservation was founded in 1968 and stretches on an area of approximately 11,500 ha – this is one of the four main protected areas in Vanatori-Neamt Nature Park.
