Address: commune Bodesti, Neamt County
The Patron of the monastery: “St Vasile the Great” celebrated on 1st of January
Construction year: the building of the religious settlement started in 1996 and was finished in 2007.
Because of its location, right near the road that goes to Targu Neamt (the place with the most famous monasteries from Neamt County) the monastery is permanently visited by believers and religious-tourists. The construction of this placed started in 1996 with the donation of the terrain where the monastery is built.
The first foundation stone was placed by Calinic Botosaneanul, the Bishop of Iasi. From the first day the monastery was designated to host monks. With the help from donations, in 8 years two churches were built and also few cellars where the monks can live and pray.
Until 2007 the monastery had a weltered life. The person that donated the terrain for the monastery tried to introduce new ideas that didn’t belong to our religion. With the help of the Moldavian Metropolitan order was restored at 30 August 2007 when a big religious service was performed by 12 priests.
At the moment the religious settlement was transformed from a hermitage to a monastery. Although the monastery had an unpleasant stage in its history the place is more and more searched by believers.
