The bronze bust of Mihai Eminescu
Culita Tarata, the president of Neamt County Council, together with Nicolae Manolescu, the president of the Union of the Writers from Romania, unveiled the bust of Mihai Eminescu, in Piatra Neamt, on January 14, 2014.
The statue is made of bronze by the sculptor Lucian Tudorache, at the initiative of the poet Adrian Alui Gheorghe and was placed in front of Neamt County Library. The expenses for the bust were supported by “Conta” Association from Piatra Neamt with the support of Neamt County Council, Piatra Neamt Town Hall and Rifil SA.
Together with the academician and UNESCO ambassador Nicolae Manolescu, at the event also participated the academician Valeriu D Cotea, Gabriel Chifu, the poet Cassian Maria Spiridon, the poet Lucian Vasiliu and numerous writers from Neamt and Bacau.
At the opening ceremony was also present Culita Tarata that talked about the importance of supporting culture as a duty that we have to our children. The academician Nicolae Manolescu also talked about supported culture and about the connections between Neamt County and Mihai Eminescu.
Tourists that come to visit Piatra Neamt can see the bust of the poet Mihai Eminescu in front of Neamt County Library.
