Between November 28 and 30 2013 will take place in Piatra Neamt the XXIII edition of the International interpretation contest of music and choreography “Emanuel Elenescu”. The event is organized as a tribute to Romania’s National Day and is a contest with 6 sections where over 500 participants will perform from Bucharest, Chisinau, Vienna, Iasi, Botosani, Bacau, Vaslui, Suceava, Galati, Tg Mures, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Miercurea Ciuc, Oradea, Pitesti, Roman and Piatra Neamt. The high artistic quality of the event made this moment a reference one in the cultural life of Piatra Neamt.

This contest is a tribute to a great musical figure of Romanian music, the musical director and composer Emanuel Elenescu and is also dedicated to young musical talents. Here are the 6 sections of the contest:
I. blowing instruments and percussion
II. classic canto
III. traditional Romanian vocal music
IV. traditional instruments
V. classic music for blowers, percussion and cord instruments
VI. Choreography – traditional dance

Friday, November 29, 2013, the contest will begin at 09:00 and will be organized in the following rooms: “Victor Brauner” Art High School from Piatra Neamt – room “Theodor Macarie” (classic canto), room “Victor Brauner” (traditional canto, choreography), room 2 (brass instruments), room 5 (wood instruments), room “Sergiu Celibidache” of the Music Faculty from Piatra Neamt (classic music and percussion), room “Cupola” from Neamt County Library (traditional instruments), room “Teatrul de joaca” from Neamt County Library (wood instruments).

Saturday, November 30 2013, in the room “Calistrat Hogas” from Neamt County Council, starting at 16:30, will take place the award gala for folkloric sections and from 18:30 the award gala for classic music.

The organizers of the event, “Victor Brauner” Art High School from Piatra Neamt and Neamt County School Inspectorate with the support of “Ambasadorii Prieteniei” Foundation, the Minister of National Education and Piatra Neamt Town Hall invite you to participate and celebrate our National Day through music.
