Winter hikes on the valley of Secu creek
The valley of Secu creek is a place that year after year attracts more tourists. The environment is superb and the high number of religious settlements from the area transforms this valley in a place dedicated to hiking and outdoor walks. The view created by the natural environment is particularly beautiful and can be admired in peace, away from the noise of the town.
A wonderful route in this place is the road of 4 km that goes to Secu Monastery where is also the first place where you can stop and visit an old monastery. From here, the road will go south through hone formations, until the valley narrows. After 3 more km you’ll reach Sihastria Monastery. Here you can visit the tombs of Elders Cleopa Ilie, Paisie Olaru and Ioanichie Balan. From Sihastria starts a road that takes you to “Inaltarea Sfintei Cruci” Hermitage and another one to Sihla Hermitage and Daniil Sihastrul Hermitage.
The road itself represents an objective of the hike and the joy of being present in these places full of history and faith is something special. You also have the chance of accommodating at one of the monasteries and experience the fresh air of the morning in the forest.
