Between October 24 and 27 2012 the Museums Complex from Neamt County will organize two important events, such as follows.
Wednesday, October 24, between hours 17:00 and 20:00 at the Neolithic Art Museum Cucuteni will be the official opening of the international colloquium “The entropic impact on the natural environment in the south east European Neolithic”.
Saturday, October 27 starting with 12:00 at the History and Archeology Museum from Piatra Neamt will be the opening of the exhibition The Liturgical Flag of ruler Stefan cel Mare. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the History Museum of Romania and will be open until November 19 2012.
The Liturgical Flag of ruler Stefan cel Mare was donated by Stefan himself to Zographu Monastery from the Athos Mountain and represents Byzantine embroidery from 1500. In 1919, after 4 centuries, the flag reaches Bucharest. From 1971 the flag is part of the permanent collection of the History Museum of Romania.
The flag was restored between 2006 and 2011 and now this medieval masterpiece is back in the exhibitions.
