To Sabaoani through Ancutei Inn
The tourist that reaches Neamt County can also make a stop to Ancutei Inn, locally called “Hanul Ancutei”, located at the intersection of the roads that go to Iasi, Roman and Suceava. The inn was built in 1718 on the land of Catargi boyars and was a stopping place for those that travelled to Roman, Iasi or Suceava.
The inn was described by writer Mihail Sadoveanu as a place where travelers could rest with no fear from thieves. In time the inn was reconstructed. The last reconstruction of the inn took placed in 1999 when the interior of the building was decorated with traditional objects specific to this area.
From here the road to Roman goes through Sabaoani a place where tourists can witness a lesson about the history of Catholics from Moldova region. The museum from Sabaoani commune was open for public in 2002 and the exhibition presents archeological, ethnographic and religious objects from Neamt County area.

In Sabaoani commune the local artisans still keep alive the local crafts to create traditional objects used in the daily tasks from a traditional house. The crafts that are most encountered are spinning and weaving. The fabrics from this area are created using natural fibers and decorated with flower motives. All these crafts are kept and transmitted to younger generations in the workshop from the Children’s Club from Sabaoani.
