Short Description:
The Prince Aristide Caradja, member of a noble family, was an entomologist and Romanian lawyer, an honorary member of the Romanian Academy. He is the creator of a collection of Lepidoptera of great scientific value, unique in the world, which he donated it in 1944 to the museum “Grigore Antipa” in Bucharest.
The house where he lived and studied for many years is located in the center of Grumazesti, in the middle of a small arboretum. The park consists of oak trees, ash, hornbeam, chestnut and lime. In terms of architectural the house is built on one level and has a large terrace in front of the great room that open entrances to other rooms. Here, on the fields of Grumazesti, the naturalist Aristide Caradja studied and created its famous collection of butterflies.
Currently, the field came into possession of the heirs as a result of a process claim.
