The Art Museum from Piatra Neamt – represents a panoramic vision of the evolution of art (paintings, graphics, sculptures, tapestries) made by Romanian artists at the end of the XX century. In works of sculptors like Ion Irimescu and Ion Jalea, painters like Gh Petrascu, Fr Sirato, N Tonitza, Corneliu Baba we can see the period between the two World Wars – a period marked by the incidence of the European currents evolved in the XX century.
The Art Museum from Roman – was open for the public in 1957 and in the beginning had only one painting to exhibit. The painting was “Stefan the Great” and it was painted in 1884 by Epaminondra Bucevschi at the request of Melchisedec Stefanescu. The collection leverages the Romanian art created by artists near the town of Roman. Among the artists that have their works exposed in the museum we can list: Maria Ciurdea Steurer, Iosif Steurer, Stavru Tarasov, Jean Cosmovici, Constantin Isachie, Nicu Enea.
The Art Museum Iulia Halaucescu from Tarcau – Neamt County – was first opened in November 2003 in the village Tarcau, in the building where the old school was. The museum is formed by six rooms that host 120 art works and personal belongings of Iulia Halaucescu. All that can be seen in the museum was donated by the painter to her birth village Tarcau.
The Religious Collection from Agapia Monastery, Neamt County – The second room of the museum is dedicated to the great painter Nicolae Grigorescu. In this room you’ll see 29 original works of the painter made in the period while he was painting the church from Agapia Monastery. The objects are represented by 5 paintings, icons, procession prapur and an epitaph.
