The Inter-counties “Baltagul” Festival of Folk and Traditions
Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 13:00 hours in Borca village from Neamt County will take place the first edition of The Inter-counties “Baltagul” Festival of Folk and Traditions. This event from Neamt County is intended to promote the authentic values of traditional music and choreography. Its main target is represented by amateur folk bands from villages.
“Baltagul” Festival will be organized at “Hanul Plutasilor” Inn from Borca village – Neamt County. This is a special place that is mentioned in chronicles since 1800 as a location where people that were using Bistrita River to go to Galati on a raft used to stop. The event will include a contest between folk bands. Here are the contestants: “Braduletul” from Tazlau, “Sanziene” from Tupilati, “Ozana” from Targu Neamt, “Dor vanatorean” from Vanatori, “Drumul Baltagului” from Borca, “Cununita” from Ilva Mare, “Cetina Calimanilor” from Saru Dornei.
Beside the contest, special recitals will take place and will perform artists like Geta Postolache, Narcis Precup, Ionut Matei and Pamfil Roata, The Folk Band „Floricica de la munte” – Georgiana Axinte Serban, Brandusa Diaconu Chirita, Ana Dragu, Ioan Hongu. The closing recital will be held by a special guest of the event, Sofia Vicoveanca.
“Baltagul” Festival is organized by Neamt County Council, Borca Town Hall and “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center from Neamt County.
