Starting this summer, Neamț Fortress -a true symbol of our county and a living testimony of some turbulent times in the history of Moldavia of the Middle Ages- has an anthem and a video of its own, thanks to the involvement of beloved artist Paula Seling:

“If the skies should tumble and fall upon the earth,
Târgu-Neamt, my Fortress, would still watch over our land beloved”

The anthem dedicated to the edifice and the video shot at the Fortress were released on the occasion of the 21^st edition of the Medieval Festival “Days of Neamt Fortress”, where Paula Seling gave a memorable performance and her wonderful and unmistakable voice resounded far and wide, from between the walls of the fortress.

Also originating from Neamț County is Maria’s Ladybugs, a friend of the artist, who creates jewelry pieces inspired by Cucuteni Neolithic Culture. On her page, Paula wrote:

Built during the reign of Petru Musat (1374-1391), the medieval fortress from Neamț knew glory during the reign of Stephen the Great (1457-1504), due to several extension and consolidation works.

By visiting Neamţ Fortress, you will symbolically enter old pages of history, and if you are lucky enough, you will have the opportunity to meet the guards of Stephen the Great, the young ladies, and you can also witness the changing of the guard, battle demonstrations and knight parades, possible due to reenactment shows.

Neamț Fortress was declared a historical monument in 1866. The latest rehabilitation interventions, carried out before 2009 and funded under the PHARE Program, have changed the look of the fortress, now presented to the public in an attractive manner.

21 spaces inside the fortress can be visited by tourists, who will thus discover the magnificence and tumultuous past of the edifice.

Neamţ Fortress is medieval monument of great value, under the administration of Neamț County Council. It is a tourist attraction that enjoys the presence of more than 150,000 visitors annually.
