With a territory that extends in the Southern extremity of the Bistrița Mountains, located on the right riverbank of Bistrița, and in the middle of the Stânișoara Mountains, on the left side of the river, Borca village spreads between absolute altitudes of 650 m, in the major riverbed of Bistrița and 1859 m, in the Budacu Peak from the Bistrița Mountains. The monotony of the interrivers is interrupted by peaks with a conical or even rocky aspect, which offer important panoramic views towards Ceahlău Massif, Rarău Massif, Călimani and Rodnei Mountains.
Due to the geographical position and natural beauty of the mountain area, Borca has the potential for the development of a skiing area, at the highest standards. The project is expected to be implemented in a partnership between Neamț County Council and the Local Council of Borca commune, but also with private entrepreneurs which may be interested in investing in the area. The complex will be equipped with all the facilities for tourists who are passionate of winter sports, both for amateurs and professionals, thus becoming a national and international level reference site, with all the amenities included: food & drink, accommodation facilities, relaxation and leisure areas.
