Adrian Niţă, representative of the Communications & Public Relations Department from Neamț County Council talked about the many picturesque places, captivating stories, welcoming people and many other amazing things and places to be seen and discovered in Neamț, an enchanting territory among the beauties of Romania.
Which are the main reasons travelers choose Neamț as their destination?
Cultural routes, hiking routes, interesting museums, that represent the cultural features and history of the places, but also the old customs and traditions, legends and local dishes that are famous both in the country and abroad, all these things and many more can be discovered and enjoyed in Neamț County.
A quick look at the tourism sector in Neamț draws the attention upon its unique aspects, at a national level: Piatra Neamț, the county’s residence, also known as “the Pearl of Moldavia”, Ceahlău Massif, the Holy mountain of Romanians, Bicaz Dam and Lake Izvorul Muntelui or “the sea between the mountains”, Bicaz Gorges or “the Stone Kingdom”, Bison Land, the only destination in Romania included in Top 100 Sustainable Global Destinations Worldwide, Ion Creangă Memorial House in Humulești, capturing the magic atmosphere from the childhood of the beloved Romanian storyteller, Neamț Fortress, which legends say has never been conquered, but also Neamț Monastery, the “Jerusalem of the Romanian Orthodoxy” and, at the same time, the oldest monastic settlement in Moldavia, certified in documents in 1210. Moreover, tourists arriving to Neamţ will be delighted by the picturesque Lake Cuejdel, the secrets of the folk crafts, and also by the one and only Cucuteni-Trypillia Museum in Romania, which stands as a proof of the fact that this community’s evolution contributed to the birth of the brightest prehistoric civilization in Europe, perhaps a fact less known to the wide public.
