The Season 2019 – 2020 starts with “FRONTAL”, an original adaptation after “The Story of a Lazy Man” by Ion Creangă. Gianina Cărbunariu signs both the script and the direction.

The performance intends to revisit “The Story of a Lazy Man” by Ion Creangă (1878), being inspired at the same time by interviews done by the entire artistic team, sociology and anthropology studies, online comments on social inequity. The fiction tries to reveal contemporary mechanisms criminalizing poverty, the role of mass media in constructing stereotypes associating “poverty” with “lazyness”, as well as the social consequences of such narratives.

A preview of the performance is programmed on Sunday, September 15, starting at 7 P.M., in the Great Hall of Youth Theatre and will be followed by discussions with the public.

The premiere will be presented during the 31st edition of Piatra Neamț Drama Festival, Sunday, September 22, starting at 6 P.M..
