Located on the upper plateau of Ceahlău Massif, between Lespezi Peak (1,805m) and Bîtca Gheodon (1,845m), Dochia Chalet is situated at an altitude of 1,750m, and dominates the surroundings through its singular position, with a total visibility to the east, southeast and south. It is the main chalet in Ceahlău and one of the few high-altitude accommodation facilities in the country. It makes the favorite halt of any tourist who, once reached the top of the mountain, enjoys the magnificent scenery of nature seen from above, and the fresh, cold mountain air.

Starting their trip at the foothill of Ceahlău Massif, tourists can admire the overwhelming splendor of the two main peaks, Toaca Peak (1904m) and Ocolaşul Mare Peak (1907m) but also the beauty of smaller peaks with bizarre shapes, whose profile is emerging in the distance. When climbing along the 8 marked trails, tourists leave behind giant stone walls with different shades of blue, wide valleys, and admire the villages far away, that are getting smaller and smaller until they can barely be seen. In their way to Dochia Chalet, tourists fully enjoy all that the mountain has to offer, the fir forests, the irresistible perfume of rare flower species, creeks occurring from place to place (Ceahlău Massif is considered to be a real “water castle”), but especially rocks shaped in quite fantastic forms as a result of the prolonged action of the elements, each having a name and legend of its own. All of these contribute to the famous reputation of Ceahlău Massif as a tourist attraction.

Hikers say that, when on top of the plateau, close to the sky, and deep valleys, life itself suddenly seems to gain a different meaning.
