CHRISTMAS FAIR IN NEAMŢ, the 3rd edition

The Christmas Fair in Neamţ will be ready to meet its audience on Friday, December 7th, at the Princely Court in Piatra Neamţ. In the opening of the event international artist Lou Bega will entertain all participants with well-known and beloved songs from his repertoire.

Likewise in previous years, this edition of the fair is organized by Neamţ County Council, via “Carmen Saeculare” – Center for Culture and Arts in Neamţ.

On Friday, the first to perform on the stage, starting at 6 PM, will be the children from the Classical Music Ensamble of the Popular Art School, co-ordinated by Professor Paula Nicorescu-Ghivirigă. Following this first performance, the local band “Los Anonimos” will support another recital, delighting the audience with popular songs. At the end of the evening, participants will enjoy themselves dancing on the lovely beats of the German star Lou Bega.

The 3rd edition of the Christmas Fair in Neamţ will feature many local and national artists, including Roxana Nemeş, Selfie, Heaven, Ionică Moroşanu, Adi Beznă, Oana Radu, Claudia Pavăl, Hevito, Alessia, Dya, along with many other young talents evolving at different children’s clubs in Neamţ County.

Those eager to immerse themselves in the vivid and joyfull atmosphere of the fair need to come at the Princely Court in Piatra Neamţ, on the plateau, where a wide  variety of food products and decorative items, including handmade products, will be available to be purchased from the wooden houses located in the specially arranged perimeter.

This year’s Christmas Fair will take place from December 7th, 2018 to January 5th, 2019. The artistic program was designed in such a way so that every weekend -on Friday, Saturday and Sunday- various musical genres, from traditional carols to dance, folk, pop or folk music will be available for the wide audiences. All music shows will start at 6 PM, except for December 28th.

As a novelty of this edition, a series of concerts will take place in Roman and Tîrgu Neamţ as well, as part of the manifestations within the Christmas Fair.

Every week of the Fair, by visiting Santa Claus’ Lodge located on the plateau of the Princely Court in Piatra Neamţ, children will have both the opportunity and pleasure to witness the work of renowned folk craftsmen from Neamţ County, who will introduce the little ones to the secrets of the crafts. Various objects will be created, from decorative objects to traditional masks.

On December 28th 2018, the popular Winter Festival of Customs and Traditions – “Steaua Sus Răsare” will take place. It will be the day when the city will ring with carols, New Year wishes and spectacular mask dances -she-goat, stag, bear, young horsemen dance- and many more, which will engage a large number of participants from all over the county in a festive, jolly atmosphere.

For the last day of celebration, the folk ensemble “Floricica de la munte” will dispaly an extraordinary performance on the evening of January 5th, on the plateau of the Princely Court in Piatra Neamţ, which will mark the ending of the Christmas Fair.
