The safest route, during this time of year, starts from Izvoru Muntelui on Lutu Roşu (before any hike during winter, please check the state of the route by contacting the representatives of Ceahlău National Park Administration Direction). Ceahlău Mountain is a true paradise during winter: a land of snow in an ocean of surrounding clouds, with tall fir trees and pointy ridges covered in snow… The high contrast between the white of the snow, the blue of the sky and the dark green of the fir trees creates a spectacular landscape for everyone who witnesses it.

The hiking routes are more difficult to navigate during winter season: the grass is all covered in snow and the trees are dressed in their winter clothes.
