Choosing such a route will take you through some of the most spectacular places you’ve ever visited. You can pass through the Bicaz Gorges, where the rocks meet high in the sky – a natural rarity of Europe and the paradise of the climbers. Then, you can stop to admire ”Cheile Şugăului – Munticelu” Natural Reservation, an area with unique calcareous formations.

You can have lunch at a restaurant, guest house or boarding house in Bicaz town. Here, you can enjoy finding out about the culture and history of the Bistriţa Valley from the Paleolithic to the present day, should you choose to visit the History and Ethnography Museum in Bicaz. Once you have left the museum, nothing is more appropriate than looking across the Valley of Bistriţa River view from the height of the Bicaz Dam (which is 127m high) to visually integrate and systematize all the information about these wonderful places.
Since you happen to be in Bicaz, you shouldn’t miss taking a ride by boat, hydro-bicycle or mini-yacht on Izvoru Muntelui Lake, known as the “sea between the mountains” – the largest anthropic lake on the Romanian rivers.

Going along your way, you can visit the Bistriţa Monastery, one of the oldest monastic settlements in the country, built in 1407.
In Piatra Neamţ there are various attractions for tourists – from museums, memorial houses and historical pleces that will take you back in time during the reign of Stephen the Great, to all sorts of leisure activities: relaxation and sunbathing in ”Ștrandul Tineretului”, horse riding and carriage rides at the ”Virgil Bărbuceanu” hippie base. In the evening, you can have fun in the clubs or you can choose to watch a play at Youth Theatre.
You can get a beautiful sight of the city situated at the foothill of Pietricica Mountain if you take a gondola ride. The picturesque landscape will surely linger in your memory till the next visit.
