Equestrian Base named after Col. Virgil Bărbuceanu (riding champion himself) was founded as Sports Centre in 1986. Since then it was arranged as one of the best equestrian bases in the country for horse jumping over obstacles, over the years, at the horse base, were organized and televised numerous national and international competitions, who benefiting from the presentation of well-known sports commentator, Cristian Ţopescu.

Stables of the base horse are currently host 19 horses, belonging to Lipitan breed, some of them use for hiking or carriage rides and 6 ponies used to delight children aged 3 to 12 years. Here you can practice safe recreational riding, on trails established by base personnel, towards Bâtca Doamnei, or to the heights of Cernegura Hill towards Bahrin Hill, you can take a carriage ride (sled) or, if you are a beginner, you can take riding courses from base instructors.

At the Riding School, which operates within the horse base, are made enrollments children, starting the age of 7 years. The price for a lesson of 30 minutes. (Children and adults) is 40 lei, in a preset schedule as follows: Wednesdays from 15 °° to 19 °°, and Saturday and Sunday from 09 °° to 14 °°.

For recreational riding, the program is: Tuesday and Thursday from 15 °° to 19 °° and Sunday from 09 °° to 14 °°. The price for 30 min. is 40 lei (children and adults).

Entertainment carriage rides (6 seats), is made on the following itinerary: Aleea Tineretului, Bâtca Doamnei, General Dăscălescu Str., Blvd Republicii Bd., Ştefan cel Mare City Square, Mihai Eminescu Str., Traian Bd., Eroilor Str., Ştefan cel Mare Str. at a price of 10 lei per 15 min. The carriages can also be rent for wedding ceremonies or other events.

I left in the end, the Competition Calendar 2015, with competitions that will take place at Base horse Virgil Bărbuceanu approved by Equestrian Federation in Romania. The official opening of the competition will take place on May 3rd, 2015, at 10 °°, and will be marked by an equestrian show held in the arena, and another, choreographic musical, watched on stage, performed by students and formations of the schools from Piatra Neamt and Neamt County. In the competitive year will follow national competition, as:

• Piatra Neamt Cup in jumping over obstacles (June 25th to 28th);
• Marsat Cup, Grand Prix stage II;
• FER Cup dressage;
• National Jumping over obstacles Festival – Stanca Serbeşti (July 2nd to 5th);
• Romanian Cup Dressage (July 2nd to 5th) and
• TCE Trei Brazi Cup (sixth edition);
• Virgil Bărbuceanu Trophy (eleventh edition);
• National Championship Finals Amazon.
