Dragobete and Martisor traditions celebrated by “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center
This month “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center from Neamt County organized a series of events dedicated to the celebrations of Dragobete and Martisor.
The first event was a Martisor Fair organized by the center in partnership with “Nicu Albu” School from Piatra Neamt and the Association of Parents. At the fair that had the title of “Here is what two skilfull hands can do” there were two crafts classes: the class of masks coordinated by the artisan Vasile Ciocarlan from Stefan cel Mare commune and the class of weaving using vegetal fibers coordinated by Carmen – Lenuta Mititelu. This fair took placed on Sunday, February 23 2014 at the sport class from “Nicu Albu” School.
The second event was about Dragobete and took placed under the title “Dragobete the symbol of love in the Romanian traditions” and took placed at the room “Teatrul de joaca” from Neamt County Library where the theater class of “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural and Art Center, coordinated by Maria Hibovschi performed the play “Visiting Gil of Dragobete”.
On Monday, February 24 there was a meeting called “sezatoare” in Borca commune where there was a show related to Dragobete. Tuesday, February 25 at the festivities room from “Calistrat Hogas” High School took placed a film projection about the significance of Dragobete in the Romanian culture.
