Between September 22 and 30 2013 at “Lascar Vorel” Galleries from Piatra Neamt can be visited a personal exhibition of the painter Gheorghe Cuciureanu. Born on April 19 1958 in Piatra Neamt, the artist followed the courses from “Ion Andreescu” Art Faculty from Cluj Napoca at Decorative Art section. After he finished his studies he was a drawing teacher at a school from Ramnicu Valcea. These days he teaches drawing at the art high school from Piatra Neamt.

His debut took place in 1975 with a personal exhibition containing 18 landscapes and portraits in oil at Tineretului Club from Piatra Neamt. This first exhibition was followed by exhibitions in Ramnicu Valcea in 1992, France 1993 and 1995, Piatra Neamt 1996, Torrance USA 1997, Iasi 2002 and 2005, Belgium 2006, Top Art Iasi 2007, “7 Pietre” Gallery from Piatra Neamt 2008, Iasi 2009, Bruxelles together with Iulia Halaucescu in 2009. Together with Constantin Popovici he founded “Punctul rosu” (the Red Dot) artistic movement and in 2001 he also published a book The History of the Red Dot.

The paintings of Gheorghe Cuciureanu express the will of the artist to create an universal piece of art with elements that define our authenticity. The exhibition that can be visited this week at “Lascar Vorel” Galleries sums some of the most recent works of the artist.
