The National Lute Festival from Neamţ Fortress the second edition
Friday, August 17 2012 from 15:00 began the second edition of the National Lute Festival. The event was scheduled on three days at Neamţ Fortress, the only medieval fortification restored from Moldavia Region of Romania. At the event participated lute masters from Iasi, Timişoara and Hunedoara.
From Friday until Sunday in Neamţ Fortress were organized theatre plays, animation for children, puppet theater, workshops, folkloric shows and traditional dances. This project of medieval evenings took placed in the last 7 years in 4 medieval places from Moldova Region from Romania.
The festival was opened for all lute singers and also to other related instruments like Celtic harp, vihuela and teorba. The lute is a medieval instrument that for more than two centuries is not in the attention of the public anymore. This event wishes to promote this instrument less known in Romania and to encourage musical teaching institutions from Romania to introduce this musical instrument in their studies.
With the occasion of this event all those that love medieval music were invited to participate and enjoy the music.
