See the flowers from the top of Ceahlau Mountain
Ceahlau National Park has a surface of 7742,5 ha and it’s located in Neamt County. The park hosts many protected flower and animal species. The flora from Ceahlau Mountain has 1097 species and 206 sub-species that represent 30% of Romania’s flora and 60% from Neamt County flora. Also on Ceahlau Mountain there are 61 protected by law flower species.
Among the rare flower species from Ceahlau Mountain there are Leontopodium alpinum, Cypripedium calceolus, Nigritella nigra, N.rubra, Taxus baccata, Larix decidua ssp.carpatica, Trollius europaeus.
The forest is composed of beech, hornbeam and spruce and the plains have a vegetation composed of flowers like “paius, iarba campului, firuta, bulbuci de munte and clopotei”. Ceahlau Mountain has 344 Euro-Asiatic species, 129 European specias, 117 polar species, 112 Central European species, 125 alpine species, 65 cosmopolite species, 45 continental species, 38 Mediterranean species and 26 Daco-Balcanic species.
Ceahlau Mountain is a rare “island” with the flowers displayed on top of the mountain. Climbing this mountain is like climbing a stairway to heaven with a beautiful garden on top.
