Tourist Attractions in Vanatori-Neamt Nature Park
Vanatori-Neamt Nature Park is located in the north east of Romania, on the east side of Stanisoara Mountains, in the north of Neamt County. The park stretches on more than one commune: Cracaoani, Agapia, Vanatori-Neamt, Targu Neamt town and Baltatesti and Oglinzi.
The park is a protected area from 1998 and hosts some of the most important cultural and religious settlements from Neamt County. Here are some natural reservations of great touristic value:
The Copper Forest – the oak forest is located on Filioara Hill from Agapia commune and is formed of old oaks and over 300 plant species of rare beauty. Filioara creek that goes around the hill and twists itself through plants and rocks, the green grass and the monastery nearby makes this place one of a kind.
The Silver Forest – this is a mix reservation that stretches 2.4 ha. The birch forest is old with trees that exceed 100 years.
“Dragos Voda” Bisons and Carpathian Fauna Reserve – this is one of the 4 bison reservations from Romania and is one of the largest reservation of its kind from Europe. The reservation is located in Vanatori-Neamt commune, near Targu Neamt at few minutes from the national road DN15.
“Dumbrava” Oak Reserve – the reservation stretches on 56.6 ha and is formed by old oak trees of over 150 years. This natural reservation impresses because of the size and tree proportions.
