Neamt County is a place where over time many rulers have built fortifications and religious settlements that can be seen even today. This is also the place where important cultural centers were established by well known cultural personalities of Romania.

The Royal Court from Piatra Neamt is located in the center of the town and it represents an architectural achievement from the time of ruler Stefan cel Mare. Today visitors can see few elements like St Joan Church, the Tower Bell, some of the old walls and a collection of historical objects.
Neamt Fortress is a medieval attraction that reached its peak during the reign of ruler Stephen the Great. This fortification had a great defensive role for the entire Moldavia region.
Neamt Monastery was built in the XIV century and is the oldest monastery from Moldova region. Here there is also an important cultural and artistic center represented by the church of the monastery, the library, workshops of wood engraving and a school of painting.
Bistrita Monastery dates from XIV century and is the place where ruler Alexander the Blessed is buried. Here you’ll also see the religious Icon of St Ana, the Museum of Old Art and a chapel.
Razboieni Monastery was built by ruler Stephen the Great after he won the battle from Valea Alba. The church of the monastery was built directly on top of the pit where they buried the dead from that battle.
Tazlau Monastery is one of the greatest monasteries built by ruler Stephen the Great. The monastery it’s like a fortress, surrounded by thick stone walls with defending towers.
Pangarati Monastery dates from XV century and it’s unique because of the architecture of the old church. Here tourists will have the chance to see two churches on top of each other, built in the same building and having separate entrances.
Durau Monastery is remarkable because of the painting of Nicolae Tonitza and the house of Veniamin Costachi.
Agapia Monastery is famous for the painting realized by the painter Nicolae Grigorescu and because of the Museum of Medieval Art and the village of nuns.
Varatec Monastery is known for the tomb of Veronica Micle and the churches “Adormirea Maicii Domnului”, “St Ioan Botezatorul” (St Joan the Baptizer) from XIX century, the church “Transfiguration of the Lord” from XIX century, a collection of old medieval art and the village of nuns.
Sihastria Monastery dates from 1655 and is the place where two great monks lived: Father Cleopa Ilie and Father Paisie Olaru (you can also visit their tombs in the cemetery of the monastery).
Secu Monastery is a 500 years old religious settlement built in the shape of a rectangular fortress. The church of the monastery is located in the middle of the defending walls, near the museum of the monastery.
Horaita Monastery is well known because of the Romano – Byzantine architectural influence and also the Russian architectural influences in the number and position of the towers.
