This is the second edition of this national and international film festival that promotes the cultural life of Piatra Neamt and the touristic potential as a resort fit for winter sports. The logo of the festival is a skier with a video camera.

The festival is organized by Filmlab and the National Cinematography Center with financial support from the Town Hall of Piatra Neamt. The Film Festival “Filmul de Piatra” wants to promote young artists, professionals or amateurs, from Romanian and the Moldavian Republic. At this second edition there are over 200 people enrolled on the following sections: fiction, documentary, animation, experiment and video clip.

The experiment section is dedicated to amateurs. The main program is dedicated to view videos made after January 1st, 2009 in Romania and the Moldavian Republic with a length between 1 and 30 minutes.

The event is promoted by HBO, Cinemagia, Best Music, Port.ro and Cinefan.ro. Because of lack of funds this year’s edition won’t include awards. The organizers count on the brand of the festival and on the fact that people will want to participate in a great film festival just for its name.

The festival will also have over 100 guests and the selected videos will be also seen in London, Toronto and other similar film festivals from Romania. At the end of January there will be the film festival from Clermont – Ferrand and the selected videos will be seen at the Romanian stand.

Beside the videos enrolled in the festival the viewers will also have the chance to see videos from other film festivals as well. We invite you between January 6 and 11, 2011 at Piatra Neamt to participate at this event and to enjoy few days in a small mountain town.
