The two weeks of theatre festival at Piatra Neamt are over: Saturday, November 30 2010 was the award gala. The festival, which is the oldest of its kind from Romania, offered a great theatrical experience to the public by presenting shows put together by young artists.

At the 25 edition of “Pledez pentru Tine(ri)” Festival from Piatra Neamt participated 24 shows: 10 shows for the Section “Theatre Schools” and 14 shows for the Section Professionals. Beside the theatre shows that were listed for the contest, the public had the chance of viewing another 3 shows put together by Tineretului Theatre from Piatra Neamt and another 5 shows of different theatres from the country.

The award winning gala of the Theatre Festival from Piatra Neamt, took place Saturday at 19:00. The jury was formed by Doru Mares (the president of the jury), Antoaneta Zaharia and András Lóránt. 1.The awards offered to Theatre Schools

Best show: „American Buffalo”, The National University of Theatre and Cinematography „Ion Luca Caragiale” from Bucharest
Best actor: Conrad Mihai Mericoffer (Boby from „American Buffalo”) and Bogdan Nechifor (Teach from „American Buffalo”)
Best actress: Borbely B. Emilia (Madalina from „Mady-Baby”), The Art University from Targu Mures
Best director: Alexandru Pamfile for the show „Woyzeck”, The National University of Theatre and Cinematography „Ion Luca Caragiale” from Bucharest

2. The awards offered to Professionals

Best show: „Niste Fete”, „George Ciprian” Theatre from Buzau
Best actor: Marius Damina (Viorel from „In container”), Odeon Theatre from Bucharest
Best actress: Diana Cavallioti (Reggie from „Niste Fete”)
Best director: Alexandru Mazgareanu for „True West”, Nottara Theatre Bucharest
Best scenography: Cristian Milea for „In container” and „Povesti de Familie”

This year’s favorite was the play „American Buffalo”, by David Mamet that took 3 awards: one for best show and two for best actor. Tineretului Theatre from Piatra Neamt took 2 awards for the quality of the festival’s organization and for its support of the young generation of actors.

After the award ceremony of „Pledez pentru Tine(ri)” Theatre Festival the audience view the play „Sufletul. Puncte de vedere” by Dimitre Dinev, directed by Radu Afrim and performed by „Maria Filotti” Theatre from Braila.
