Short description
The building where the theatre operates was built between 1929 and 1947 and was designed by arh. F.E. Droz and built by Carol Zane. The authors of this building project were Petru Lalu, G. Macarescu and N. Ioaniu, intellectuals and mayors of the town Piatra Neamt. Until 1958 the building was rent and here functioned The Cinema Trianon. From that year on the first theatrical premieres are presented here.
Also, in 1958 here takes birth the Theatrical State Section from Bacau with graduates from IATC from the class of 1957 and 1958. Among these actors we can meet Leopoldina Balanuta, Florin Piersic, Cosma Brasoveanu, Dumitru Chesa, Atena Zahariade, Ica Matache and Zoe Muscan. On 3 October 1958 took place the first theatrical show, “The Wiliness of Scapin” by Moliere, directed by David Esrig and with the following cast: Leopoldina Balanuta, Florin Piersic, Radu Voicescu, Cosma Brasoveanu, Dumitru Chesa, Gheorghe Popovici Poenaru, George Motoi, Atena Zahariade and Zoe Muscan.
The Minister Council decides in 1961 to establish in Piatra Neamt a State Theatre and this is also the moment when the theatre becomes The Tineretului Theatre.

“There is no place for jokes when it comes to love” by Alfred de Musset, translated by: Em. Serghie and S. Calimachi directed by Alexandru Dabija and screenplay by Ioan Murariu. Cast: Andreea Gavriliu, Isabela Neamtu, Adina Suciu, Dragos Ionescu, Victor Giurescu, Cezar Antal, Tudor Tabacaru with the extraordinary participation of Nora Covali, Catalinei Iesanu, Ecaterinei Hatu and Ionut Cucoara.
“The Soldiers” by Zalán Tibor, translated by: George Volceanov, music: Ovidiu Iloc, choreography: Andrea Gavriliu and screenplay: Csiki Csaba. A spectacol by Szabó K. István with the following cast: Tudor Tabacaru, Loredana Grigoriu, Cezar Antal, Nora Covali, Andrea Gavriliu, Horia Suru, Victor Giurescu, Rares Pirlog, Dan Grigoras, Daniel Besleaga, Dragos Ionescu, Florin Mircea jr, Catalina Iesanu, Isabela Neamtu and Ecaterina Hatu.
