Short history
The abbot of the monastery, father Neofit Amariei, was a monk in the Bistrita Monastery and the founder of the hermitage from the Mountain Pietricica. In 1993, father Neofit Amariei will found a new hermitage in the village Garcina on a piece of land donated by a local family.
In the year 1997, the construction of the church was finished. The church becomes a monk monastery in 2002 with the abbot Neofit Amariei. Father Neofit plans to build here a place to attract the pilgrims and to place the monastery in the circuit of the Neamt monasteries.
The access to the monastery is hard it’s not recommended on bad weather, but the abbot together with the local authorities try to raise funds to modernize the road.
